Young journalists looking to boost their careers are invited to apply for the European Commission’s prestigious Youth4Regions programme. The 9th edition offers a week-long, fully funded experience in Brussels during October 2025. Selected participants will receive hands-on training, expert mentorship, and valuable newsroom experience. They will also gain exclusive access to EU institutions and media organisations.
This year’s programme is open to students and young journalists from EU Member States, neighbouring countries, and candidate countries, with application categories in general journalism, photojournalism, and video journalism.
Since it started in 2017, Youth4Regions has supported over 250 young reporters in developing their skills and networks within the realm of EU journalism.
The deadline for applications is 7 July 2025. Interested candidates can find more information and submit their applications on the programme’s website.
Finally, participants will also have the chance to compete for the prestigious Megalizzi – Niedzielski Prize, which honours exceptional young journalists and will be awarded on 14 October 2025.
