Waterford’s Apple Market, a public space reimagined and repurposed in 2016 co-funded by the EU, hosted an array of music events during Spraoi International Street Arts Festival 2025. These included performances by emerging young musicians. The youth orientated afternoon performances were supported by Southern Regional Assembly. They were curated by Waterford Academy of Music and Arts, and Waterford Youth Arts.
The Apple Market also facilitated three evenings of adult orientated music during the festival. In total this EU co-funded multipurpose venue presented seventeen hours of music during the festival with positive social, cultural and economic impacts for audiences, artists, and local hospitality businesses.
The Apple Market was redeveloped as part of Waterford City Public Realm Works 2016, co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund and Waterford City Council under an EU Regional Programme managed by the Southern Regional Assembly.
