Yesterday, the Southern Regional Assembly had the pleasure of hosting a delegation from Estonia as part of a TAIEX TSI Study Visit on sustainable spatial development. The aim of the visit was to exchange experience on best practices and knowledge related to sustainable spatial planning .

Representatives from the Estonian Parliament, Ministry of Regional Affairs and Agriculture, Ministry of Climate, Ministry of Culture, Tallinn City Planning Department, and private practice joined us for insightful discussions, and exchanging valuable insights and experiences. A huge thank you to our Estonian counterparts for their engagement and enriching discussions. A range of presentations were given by our team, leading to interesting and insightful discussions. Many thanks to Cllr. Dan Boyle and Liam McGree, Senior Planner, who presented their knowledge of the Southern Region to the delegation.

In the afternoon, the delegation went on a walking tour led by Liam McGree, which included Waterford’s Viking Triangle and a look at the development of the North Quays.
