Save the Date: Association of Irish Regions (AIR) 2026 taking place 25th and 26th February in Inishowen Gateway Hotel, Buncrana, Co. Donegal
Following the success of the Regions in Focus in Monaghan (2023), in Adare Limerick (2024), and in Athlone in February 2025, the Association of Irish Regions (AIR) annual training seminar will return on February 25th-26th 2026 at the Inishowen Gateway Hotel, Buncrana.
In Ireland, the approach to regional development was restructured in 2015 with the introduction of three Regional Assemblies. Under Project Ireland 2040, and specifically through the Regional Spatial and Economic Strategies, the three Regional Assemblies play a leadership role in supporting the delivery of national objectives and are at the forefront of best practice across a number of areas in this regard. The Assemblies have become vehicles for both securing and brokering critical investment, strategic policy-making and are key advocates for their constituent communities (both urban and rural).
The Association of Irish Regions is the representative body of the three Regional Assemblies in Ireland EMRA NWRA SRA
