Last week, we were delighted to attend the Wind Energy Ireland Annual Conference in Dublin.
Over two days, the conference highlighted what is shaping Ireland’s energy future, including topics on thinking beyond fossil fuels, growing clean energy demand, and future-proofing wind. The launch of Wind Energy Ireland’s 2026–2030 Strategy was a key milestone of the conference, with the strategy setting out the next steps of Ireland’s clean energy journey.
David Kelly, Director of the Southern Regional Assembly gave an insightful presentation on Promoting Renewable Energy Development: Regional Policy and the Planning System, sharing how the Regional Assembly is committed to delivering a low carbon and climate-resilient economy by 2050. He also outlined key challenges that we face such as landscape, timescale, alongside recognising the important role of the Regional Assembly in delivering climate action through the preparation of the Regional Renewable Energy Strategy.
